We are also requiring the 6 feet Social Distancing Rule from the CDC.GOV website when we are in a group.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStone Hill Blueberry Farm\n362 Stone Hill Road\nAfton\, NY 13730\n\nPlease join the Family Resource Network for a late morning of blueberry picking! This event will be held at Stone Hill Blueberry Farm on Saturday\, July 31st from 10:00am-12:00pm. The Family Resource Network will be providing a light refreshment and will pay for each person that attends to bring home up to two quarts of blueberries!  Stone Hill Blueberry Farm has premeasured buckets for everyone to pick the blueberries in but everyone is encouraged to bring their own containers to transport their blueberries home!\nIf you would like to attend please register by 12:00 p.m. on July 30th.\n\nThis FREE event is for individuals with OPWDD eligibility living in the family home in Broome\, Chenango\, Otsego\, Delaware\, Tioga or Tompkins County. DESCRIPTION:Please join The Family Resource Network\n and Starbridge\, Inc.\nfor a half-day advocacy workshop:\n\nFunctional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans\n\n\nSometimes a child’s behaviors interfere with learning. Students and teachers need strategies to minimize those behaviors and to maximize learning opportunities. This workshop will explore the nature of a child’s behavior and when a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) should be requested. An FBA helps to determine why a student engages in behaviors that impede learning. We will share tools and strategies to support student success\, and what types of supports and services might be needed. \n¨ Understand the terms Functional Behavioral Assessment and Behavior Intervention Plan \n¨ Understand the process by which these are developed \n¨ Be able to actively participate in the process of developing these plans\n\nAbout our Speaker:\nKara Georgi is the Parent Education Specialist for Starbridge parent training and information center. DESCRIPTION:Family Resource Network 2021 Conference Series: \nSocial Thinking \nA Comprehensive Overview of Building Social Competencies  \nWednesday\, August 18 \n9:00 am– Noon \nOnline \nSpeaker:  Nancy Clements\, SLP-CCC \nThis presentation will explore the key components of the Social Thinking Methodology. Frameworks for teaching social attention\, interpretation and problem solving will be explored and discussed as the basis for social responses and related social behaviors across various age groups. The core concepts and Social Thinking vocabulary will also be presented. \n\nNancy Clements\, SLP-CCC\,  is a speech language pathologist and Executive Director of Social Thinking Boston®\, the East Coast sister clinic to Social Thinking Stevens Creek and Social Thinking Santa Clara. She brings her highly creative approach to her clinical practice\, where she maintains a very active and varied caseload ranging from early social learners through adults. She is especially interested in bringing Social Thinking concepts to all learners and continuing to analyze the impact of social thinking methodologies across all tiers using a Response to Intervention (RTI) model. Nancy enjoys formulating programs from the ground up through creative strategies\, systems of implementation\, and models of efficacy that are data driven.
