DESCRIPTION:JOIN THE FAMILY RESOURCE NETWORK \nGetting Organized \nCreate a Kid in a Book or \nTeen in a Book or \nan Adult in a Book \nThe Family Resource Network will demonstrate a helpful organizing tool to use when navigating the world of special education.  So much gets lost in our piles of papers scattered around the house — if this is your current method of record keeping we are excited to introduce you to our Kid in a Book method.\nKid in a Book (KIB) is a hands-on workshop where participants are guided through the process of organizing their loved one’s: \n\nhealth records\neducation records\nother important papers and documents of a loved one with special needs.\n\nKIB is an invaluable resource for many parents\, providing easy access to all of your loved one’s information for medical appointments\, CPSE and CSE meetings\, parent-teacher conferences\, and everyday reference. \nTeen in a Book is a similar version of Kid in a Book record keeping method. Teen in a Book (TIB) provides a go-to guide for you and your loved one to access their educational\, medical\, and personal information at any time\, all in the same place. Teen in a Book is aimed at helping teens and parents navigate the transition years with a little more confidence\, comfort\, and ease — helping your loved one enter into the adult world effectively\, armed with the information to be their own advocate. \nParticipants will receive their choice of  a Kid in a Book binder\, or Teen in a Book binder\, or an Adult in a Book binder through the mail after the workshop presentation to use for their loved one\, and a plan of action to tackle the various forms\, records\, and reports lying around. \nThis workshop will be presented by Robin Piefer and Terry DiLuzio\, facilitators from the Family Resource Network. \nDate: Monday\, December 20\, 2021 \nTime: 6-8 pm\nOnline \n  *Registration is required* \nTo register online click here. \nPlease note: Date has changed from what was released in our November 2021 Newsletter. \nFor assistance with registration or for questions\, please\ncall Terry at (607)287-3816. \n***This workshop is funded through a grant from the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). Kahoot\, our trivia style game\, was such a big hit during our last game night\, we will be playing it again in addition to BINGO. There will be multiple rounds of each.
