FRN will lead participants through wraps and macaroni salad and we will help cover the ingredients! Rather than FRN purchasing the supplies and delivering or scheduling pick ups\, we will be providing families gift cards and a supply list that they can use to get the ingredients they need.  Please register by Monday\, June 19th in order to receive your gift card prior to the event. DESCRIPTION:GETTING ORGANIZED: \nKID IN A BOOK  \n(TEEN and ADULT IN A BOOK) \nThe Family Resource Network will demonstrate a helpful tool for organizing records for your loved one with a disability.  Kid in a Book (KIB) is a hands-on workshop where we will guide participants through the process of organizing for their loved ones’: \n\nhealth records\neducation records\nother important papers and documents of a loved one with special needs.\n\nKIB is an invaluable resource for many parents\, providing easy access to all of your loved one’s information for medical appointments\, CPSE and CSE meetings\, parent-teacher conferences\, and everyday reference. \nTeen in a Book contains the same information as Kid in a Book plus pages to help teens and parents navigate the transition years with a little more confidence\, comfort\, and ease — helping your loved one enter into the adult world effectively\, armed with the information to be their own advocate. \nIn-person participants will receive their choice of  a Kid in a Book binder\, or Teen in a Book binder\, or an Adult in a Book binder.  Online participants will receive a digital file of their choice of binders. \nThis workshop will be presented by Robin Piefer\, Pattie Kinter\, and Terry DiLuzio from the Family Resource Network. \nWednesday\, June 28\, 2023\n6:00 to 8:00 p.m.\nHYBRID\nIN-PERSON and ZOOM\n*Registration is required* \n>>Register Here<<\nFor assistance with registration or for questions\, please\ncall Terry at (607)287-3816. \n  \n***This workshop is funded through a grant from the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). DESCRIPTION:Please join the Family Resource Network and the Oneonta Job Corps Academy for our Fifth Annual Community Softball Game \nFriday\, July 14th\, 2023\n6pm-9pm\nDamaschke Field\, Neahwa Park\nOneonta\, NY \nThe Family Resource Network and the Oneonta Job Corps Academy will be hosting our Fifth Annual Community Softball Game Friday\, July 14th at Damaschke Field in Neahwa Park. Doors open @ 6:00pm and the game will begin at 7pm. This is a family friendly event open to anyone in the community! \nFamily Resource Network youth and staff play the Oneonta Job Corps Academy youth and staff in a fun\, friendly game of softball! During the softball game there will be fun contests between innings for any spectators who would like to join in including a base run with the team mascots\, tug of war and a dance off! We will end the night with a performance by a fire dancer on the infield! \nIn addition to the game\, contests and entertainment\, there will be carnival games and prizes in the ball park\, local agencies set up sharing information about the services and programs they offer in our community as well as giveaways throughout the evening! In the past we have done backpack giveaways during our event as it usually fell at the end of the summer.  This year we thought it would be fun to do a “Beach Bag” Giveaway! . \nAll family members of any Teen Scene or Dragon Dates participant who registers will receive a meal voucher to be used at the ballpark concession stand for a free hamburger/hotdog\, bag of chips and a drink.  Anyone Teen Scene/Dragon Dates Participant who registers by 6/22/23 will receive a FRN Team T-shirt as well! \nRegistration is REQUIRED. FRN will lead participants through two recipes\, one for zucchini quiche and the other involving corn on the cob and we will help cover the cost of the ingredients.  We have decided to try something different for supplies.  Rather than FRN purchasing the supplies and delivering or scheduling pick ups\, we will be providing families gift cards and a supply list that they can use to get the ingredients they need.  Please register by Monday\, August 21st in order to receive your gift card prior to the event.
