How does this influence their actions?\nHarmful effects of the repression of sexual expression.\nDispelling myths about sexuality and disability.\nBuilding disability pride= positive self-image.\nWhat does my child need to know?\nWhere can I get help?!\nGood touch/bad touch\, private vs. public\n\nAbout our Presenter:\nConsuelo Senior\, LMSW\nMental Health Clinician\, Transformational Speaker\, Consultant\, Staff Trainer\, Educator\, Sexuality Expert. \nConsuelo has 21 years of experience working in the field of mental health and intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Consuelo brings a myriad of experience from a variety of areas within the field; psychotherapist and consultant\, staff trainer\, case manager\, quality assurance\, administrator\, direct support professional\, educator and transformational speaker. Consuelo has trained and developed curricula for a wide range of topics of importance to the disability field (Autism\, Complex Needs\, Aging\, Multiple Disabilities\, Dementia/Alzheimer\, Social-Sexual Issues\, Vocational\, Dual Diagnosis\, Mental Illness and Profound Disabilities). In addition\, also\, Professional Development\, Cultural & Immigration Issues\, Diversity and Inclusion\, Leadership\, and Emotional Intelligence. \nConsuelo has been providing social-sexuality education for 17 years to professionals\, families\, people with disabilities and professionals in the field. Ms. Senior practices both group and individual psychotherapy (13 years) with groups\, families and individuals ranging in age from 6 to 65+ years\, with and without cognitive disabilities. Ms. Senior currently practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy\, Play Therapy\, Schema Therapy & sex therapy. Ms. Senior’s mission is to help others to live their best life. Consuelo is an adjunct lecturer at City College of New York (Disability and Social Work courses) and Adelphi University (Social Work-Graduate Courses). Consuelo has presented at numerous conferences across the country and internationally\, for a variety of audiences. She has also presented at symposiums\, radio programs and panel discussions as an expert mental health clinician. Consuelo is an agency representative to the U.N’s Economic and Social Council and is published in The Autism Spectrum News. This year in addition to our traditional Duck Derby activities we will also have a special musical guest\, Flame the Band\, who will be performing at the Foothills Performing Arts Center immediately following the Duck Derby!! \nFlame is a group of musicians with powerful vocals\, smooth harmonies and a rich array of instruments\, the 8- person cover band from Gloversville\, NY happens to have disabilities. Flame’s mission is to change the world through music. They inspire people with disabilities and give hope to them and their families – hope that they can do great things and live a fun and fulfilling life. Flame’s performances help change how the public perceives people with disabilities and increase the awareness and acceptance of all people\, regardless of their differences. \nThe Duck Derby will consist of multiple heats of duck races throughout the afternoon. CASH PRIZES will be awarded to first\, second and third place finishers in each race.  At the end of the day all ducks will be entered in the final race for a chance to win the grand prize!!! \nWhile Ducks can be purchased the day of the event\, they can also be purchased in advance at the Family Resource Network located at 46 Oneida Street\, Oneonta. DESCRIPTION:Teen Scene is a group of youth\, ages 12-19\, who meet once a month and participate in a variety of activities. Discussion topics can include dealing with bullying\, dating\, conflict resolution\, communication\, and leadership. The group also attends community events and participates in community service projects. \nMonday\, June 24th 5:30pm-7:30pm @ Elm Park United Methodist Church \nPlanting Succulents-Our theme for the month is endurance! Succulents are tenacious plants and offer us a positive example by conserving water and flourishing in very difficult circumstances.  They act as a reminder that even the toughest situations are not the end of the line.  This month we will be decorating pots and selecting a succulent to plant\, take home and care for\, acting as a symbol of our own strength and endurance! \nDinner is provided so please RSVP by the Friday before the group. \nRegistration Form

DESCRIPTION:Please join the Family Resource Network for our June Dragon Dates Event with the: \n \nWednesday\, June 26th\, 2019 \n6:00pm \nDamaschke Field \n15 James Georgeson Avenue \nOneonta\, NY \nEnjoy a night of baseball with the Family Resource Network and the Oneonta Outlaws!  At 6:00pm we will have dinner under the event tent as well as a meet and greet with some of the players and the Oneonta Outlaws Mascot!  After dinner\, anyone who would like to can go on the field and play pitch and catch with the Outlaws during warmups.  Finally\, all participants are invited to go back onto the field for the National Anthem before the start of the game at 7:00pm. \nRegistration is required.  Please register by June 21st. \nThis event is for individuals with OPWDD eligibility living in the family home in Broome\, Chenango\, Otsego\, Delaware\, Tioga or Tompkins County. DESCRIPTION:Please join the Family Resource Network for our Annual Summer Picnic and Family Fun Day! This event is open for any family that utilizes services provided through FRN (Teen Scene\, Support Group\, Dragon Dates\, Family Peer Advocate and/or Youth Peer Advocate serviced families). Please contact FRN’s office if you have any questions regarding your family’s eligibility to attend this event. \nThere will be swimming at Briggs Pool\, tie dying\, softball practice and dinner! Families are encouraged to bring outdoor games for the group to participate in. There is also a playground on the upper level for families to enjoy. \nEntry into the pool\, dinner\, and one shirt for the tie dye activity will be provided for each individual that attends. DESCRIPTION:Please Join the Family Resource Network and the EDD Memorial Fund for an Adaptive Baseball Clinic with the Oneonta Outlaws! \nFriday\, July 26\, 2019 \n2:30pm-5:00pm \nDamaschke Field \n15 James Georgeson Ave \nOneonta\, NY \nThe Family Resource Network is excited to partner with the EDD Memorial Fund and the Oneonta Outlaws to offer an adaptive baseball clinic for children and adults with disabilities. This program gives athletes the opportunity to try baseball and learn from the members of the Oneonta Outlaws team. \nThis event will be open to all participants of our Teen Scene and Dragon Dates programs.  The clinic will go from 2:30pm to 4pm and will be followed by a Pizza dinner for all attendees. \nThe clinic will provide another opportunity for any youth interested in participating in our Community Softball Game to attend a practice.  All teens interested in playing in our Annual Community Softball Game against Oneonta Job Corps Academy must attend one of the two practices FRN is holding during the summer. \nRegistration is required \nFor questions or to register please contact Kristin by phone: 607-432-0001 or by email: kwinn@familyrn.org
