Learn how to read the NYS Regulations and understand what is included in the IEP and how it is individualized to meet the unique needs of a student. \nEffective Communication \nDo you come away from meetings not saying what you intended or feeling misunderstood? Do you understand what the team members are saying? Do you respond effectively? Communication is key to productive partnerships. Learn to recognize the barriers in communication and stregthen your advocacy skills by learning effective and collaborative strategies. \nCommunicating Through Letter Writing \nLetters are an important record of concerns. Problems can often be avoided through letter documentation. Each letter differs according to the situation\, the person to whom you are writing\, and the issues you are discussing.
