Noah’s World and Visual Schedules
Saturday, June 21
11:00 am-1:00 pm
144 Roundhouse Rd., Oneonta, NY
FRN has reserved Noah’s World on Saturday, June 21, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. While the children play, parents are invited to join Robin Piefer to learn all about using visual schedules in your home. We will provide all of the material that you need to create your own visual schedule to take home.
What is a visual schedule?
Children with Autism and other developmental disabilities often have trouble transitioning from one activity to another. Visual schedules are an effective tool to help them know what to expect and reduce their refusals and meltdowns. Visual schedules can help children learn to be more independent, as well. Once your child knows how to follow their schedule, it can remind them to complete all of the steps in a routine, such as getting ready in the morning or at bedtime.
Have fun creating a visual schedule for your child while socializing with other families! Refreshments will be provided.
Family Resource Network Embark is open to the families of children under 8 who are eligible to receive services through OPWDD (the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities). Please call Robin at (607)287-6358 to register for Embark.
